Violator Show (London)

Firstly, we’d like to say a massive, huge, thundering THANK YOU to everyone who came to see us at the O2 Academy in Islington last Saturday for the special Violator Anniversary Show. It was a phenomenal night for us and the feedback so far has been electric. We’re glad we could do such a seminal album justice.

We pulled in a few favours from some very talented friends of our and got the gig shot and filmed, so we will have some videos to tempt and tease you with.

Special thanks also go to the venue and to the chaps at Feeling Gloomy who helped us get into the big room at the O2. It was an honour to play such an illustrious stage.

Next stop: the Violator Show goes to Norway. But in the meantime, here are a couple of photos from the gig. Photo credits go to our very talented friend Nigel Jepson:

Speak and Spell in the press

Ahead of the big Violator 2015 gig, Speak and Spell are in a Big Issue near you! A full-page spread no less.

Well, you know what they say: “Spreading the news around the world”… what do you mean, ‘wrong album’?

Ticket still available but selling fast. Head to to pick up yours.

(Thanks to our No. 1 Stalker Bev Maxey for the pic)

Thank you Bedford

Last Saturday we performed at Bedford Esquires for the 6th consecutive year… and what an Easter Treat it turned out to be! Bedford has always been one of the highlights of our gig calendar with a fun, energetic crowd – and this was no exception.

Thank you to everyone who came along (and there were a lot of you), both old faces and new: the energy in the room was palpable. We were especially chuffed as we have our Violator Anniversary Gig at the O2 Academy relatively close on 25th April. We know a lot of you will be there too, which just goes to show… you lot Just Can’t Get Enough.

We look forward to seeing you next year. In the meantime, tickets for our special Violator show are available here:

Islington Review

DSC_5715A big thanks to all those who got there despite the closed Northern Line train.

It was an all thriller, no filler shorter set in a 3/4 full O2 Academy. Also the UK debut for the Spook-a-phones. They performed well but some of the triggers need repairing. We don’t half hit them sometimes.

Here they are in action on the S&S Facebook page

Thanks to Modovar and DMO for support. Both bands did their thing. Particularly impressed with Alex Bourner’s drumming. Apologies for the shortened sets.
