The Violator show at the O2 was such a success that we’re at it again… only this time with the seminal Black Celebration album – just in time for its 30th Anniversary.

This solid fan-favourite is getting the full treatment. We’re playing it live, in full, at the O2 Academy in Islington.

There’s a lot of work ahead and a lot of fun. Put the 12th March 2016 in your diaries now!

A hot night, a good Pulse, and a new town

Our regular gigs at The Horn St Albans are always a lot of fun, and yesterday was no exception! It may have been torrential rain all day and a very hot night, but folks still turned out in their masses to see us and our wonderful support act Pulse.

Pulse really brought the house down, playing an amazing collection of songs, some of which were debuted that very night. Big thanks to Howard and Sebastien, and of course to everyone who came to see us.

Here’s a picture of Pulse in action. Click for a link to their website.

Pulse 2015

The Mode Machine continues, though – next up is BAS 5 on Friday 26th! This is the world-famous electronic music festival in the hallowed ground of Depeche Mode’s own home town of Basildon.

See you next time.

BAS 2015

There are few words in the electronic music language that express so much in three letters, but the BAS events are one of them. These are mini-electronic music festivals, spread across two nights, in what is to some the Mecca of electronica: Basildon.

Depeche Mode’s hometown pays homage to a ‘Sounds of Basildon’ night on Friday 26th June, with Speak & Spell headlining. For those who want to make a weekend of it, there are more electronic acts on the Saturday.

Tickets are available here.

We’ve got The Horn…

Brace yourselves, Speak & Spell are back at The Horn in St Albans on 20th of June!

This is always a fun night, for us and the audience alike. The Horn may be small but it’s full of energy and we intend to rock your socks off with an amazing set.

As it’s a smaller venue it sometimes sells out, so get there early and enjoy the support act to make sure you get a ticket.

Doors Open: 21.00
Support Act “Pulse”: 21.15-22.15
Speak & Spell: 22.30-00.00

Tickets: £8 in advance via or £10 on the door.

Top night in Tønsberg

We took the Violator Show to Norway last Saturday and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to make it such a memorable night. Some people drove over 7 hours to see us and we’re proud to have given them such an good show.

It was our third year in the charming town of Tønsberg and we were bowled over by the love and support shown for us. We were in a much bigger venue than previous years and honoured to share the stage with Jonas Thorell, who joined us for a special rendition of A Question of Time in our post-Violator ‘hits’ set.

We’d like to thank everyone involved in making the gig happen, especially Børre, Jan, Henning (and the crew). See you next time!

Violator Show (London)

Firstly, we’d like to say a massive, huge, thundering THANK YOU to everyone who came to see us at the O2 Academy in Islington last Saturday for the special Violator Anniversary Show. It was a phenomenal night for us and the feedback so far has been electric. We’re glad we could do such a seminal album justice.

We pulled in a few favours from some very talented friends of our and got the gig shot and filmed, so we will have some videos to tempt and tease you with.

Special thanks also go to the venue and to the chaps at Feeling Gloomy who helped us get into the big room at the O2. It was an honour to play such an illustrious stage.

Next stop: the Violator Show goes to Norway. But in the meantime, here are a couple of photos from the gig. Photo credits go to our very talented friend Nigel Jepson:

Thank you Bedford

Last Saturday we performed at Bedford Esquires for the 6th consecutive year… and what an Easter Treat it turned out to be! Bedford has always been one of the highlights of our gig calendar with a fun, energetic crowd – and this was no exception.

Thank you to everyone who came along (and there were a lot of you), both old faces and new: the energy in the room was palpable. We were especially chuffed as we have our Violator Anniversary Gig at the O2 Academy relatively close on 25th April. We know a lot of you will be there too, which just goes to show… you lot Just Can’t Get Enough.

We look forward to seeing you next year. In the meantime, tickets for our special Violator show are available here:
