woody

It is with sadness and regret that we must announce that at the end of 2018 Paul Wood (Woody) is stepping down as frontman for Depeche Mode Tribute : Speak and Spell. All current gigs will of course go ahead as planned with no changes. So please don’t worry if you have tickets and plans.

An original member from 2008, Woody has been a fearless performer and wonderful friend, dedicated to the band and injecting humour and fun into the hundreds of gigs he has fronted for the band all over Europe. This, with the hilarious antics, impressions and jokes off stage has made working with Paul a joy. But after 10 very busy years our much loved frontman and friend has decided it’s time to hang up the waistcoat and hand back the microphone.

Paul wants you all to know that he’s loved every minute of performing with the band over these last 10 years. However, all good things must come to an end, and it’s now time for him to concentrate on other priorities.

Paul wants to thank each and every person who has ever come to a show for your support and loyalty.

As you can imagine the news hit the band very hard and for the last few months the team have been coming to terms with this huge change and what the future could hold.

After months of consideration and discussion we are pleased to confirm that, as we are continually playing to newer and larger audiences, auditions for a new frontman will go ahead as we look to continue to add to our ever increasing legacy.

The Half Moon in Putney will be Paul’s last show, and we look forward to seeing him off in style!

If anyone has a genuine interest in auditioning for the vacant role please email Keith Trigwell on keith@depechemodetribute.co.uk

All other matters to claire@depechemodetribute.co.uk

In the meantime, we”ll see you at one of our Fake Festivals, or one of our other shows in Derby, Islington, Manchester, Bristol and Putney.
